A TREATISE ON THE SITH WORLDVIEW
What does it mean to be Sith? It is true that the Sith path is a selfish path but does that also mean that Sith are untrustworthy? Sith are colloquially associated with the persona of “The Villain” but does that mean they embrace crypto-fascism, delight in the devaluing of humanity or are otherwise depraved in their approach to life”? Ironically, to the casual observer of Sith interactions, these things appear to not only be a focus of discussion but widely adopted stances. However these things could not be further from the truth for the true Sith adept.
Sith that are new to the path have a tendency to gravitate toward such things as deception, manipulation, coercion, subjugation, and provocation. These things are raw and formidable tools that seduce the fledgling Sith to revel in freedoms outside of social norms that they have not previously experienced. They embrace the concept of the comic book villain and in turn utilize these tools in the conceivably most gross, over-imagined manner possible. And thus the first taste of power is achieved. But their coarse application of these tools produces only a foundationless and impotent power because the new Sith scarcely has any ability in, let alone mastery over, these tools.
It takes years of intense study for them to realize the true nature of this path and the true use of these tools; one based in a strict personal code of compassion, loyalty, trust and a natural justice that works both ways. Failing to take the time to understand and adopt this nuanced personal code leaves the potential Sith adept lost in the blackness of the abyss. They fail to find the greater freedom they seek and continue to operate outside their potential of true power that is based in true will. They become slaves to the darkness and are thus destined, not for greatness, but for oblivion.
This brings us to the first pier of the Sith worldview triad, the pursuit of passion. This is another commonly discussed theme in the Sith worldview. But there is another component of this that is often over-looked or ignored. That is the pursuit of freedom. When given to this wider view, passion becomes only the vehicle used to pursue the ultimate goal, to be free. And in gaining more freedom a Sith becomes capable of greater efficiency in pursuing their passion. Thus the Sith code is not a linear expression that travels in one direction but an ever growing spiral upwards with no beginning and no end.
Freedom is not only of the body, but more importantly it must exist in the heart and in the mind. One can be a prisoner in a cage and still be free. And if one is not willing to fight for that freedom in all forms, a Sith will have little respect for them. This comes across as contempt but for one who knows the path of the Sith it is much more than that. It is a place of incredulousness. It is through the pursuit of passion that Sith gain strength, true power and attain victory to break chains, thus achieving freedom. From small children we are taught to fear pain and avoid it at all cost. Sith realize this is a false teaching because it is through the experience of pain that weakness leaves the body and the mind and strength is gained.
Sith learn to walk through fear to a place outside of comfort and use it to enact the action of desire. This is the first step in the idea that peace is a lie. It is the rare individual that can gain this insight and become a true Sith adept. Most will never learn to embrace pain in this way and instead will succumb to suffering. While pain is unavoidable in life, suffering is optional. Pain is the feeling of unpleasant physical sensations or emotions. Suffering is the struggle, denial, worry, regret, indignation, complaining, and self-pity wrapped around pain. To let go of suffering, you must first allow and embrace the pain. A Sith will have little tolerance for those that habitually succumb to suffering.
And with this the second tier of the Sith Worldview triad is revealed, that of Sith emotional experience. Sith embrace all emotions both passive and violent and they revel in the experience of them. When it comes to an emotion like compassion Sith do not experience it as a general love of humanity but, more like Neo from the Matrix, they experience emotions such as compassion on an individual or personal level. This makes them fiercely loyal to those they love and easily willing to sacrifice the many for the few or the one. For the Sith there is no moral dilemma in this. It is just an obvious expression of their selfish emotional nature.
The idea of The “Villain” is easily seen in this conception. Sith live their lives in a self-centric manner where the concept of the selfless act does not exist and the concept of evil is a fabricated and subjective human construct. All acts are selfish in some way. Giving a homeless person a few bucks makes one feel good. The moral dilemma of the train trolley may easily find the Sith saving the single loved one from the train tracks while many are hit by the train. In the Star Wars movie “Rogue One” Cassian Andor killed the innocent informant to protect him from the pain of torture but to also protect a greater good in the secret he carried. These are all acts of a Sith worldview; the worldview of The Villain, doing what it takes to ensure personal success and wellbeing.
The difference between a comic book Hero and a comic book Villain is clear in myth or movies. The hero fights for the laws and liberty of the people; the Villain supposes that nothing is done unless the laws are canceled and the people are brought into subjection. But this is a neat and tidy concept that has no place in the real world. The real world has no such absolutes. It is a world of grey and shadow and nuance where anyone’s hero is also another’s villain. This is where the Sith worldview thrives. A Sith strives to see the world for what it truly is and can see the beauty in its pure savage violence. This is the dark side of nature that is required for balance and embraced by Sith. This also represents the union of the shadow self and the civilized self in rider and dragon. Without the rider the dragon annihilates in an unchecked approach and without the dragon the rider is void of any driving force to move them forward.
The true Sith adept doesn’t want to rule the world because that is a chain that binds one down. They don’t chain themselves to ethnic or societal hate. Emotions like hate are used in a more personal way. The Sith only wants to rule her world, her empire, herself. This is a place of personal “Icon” and thus the third pier of the Sith worldview triad is revealed here; the will to build the monument of her existence in the face of desperation – the knowledge of her own eventual death. This is what sets human will apart from animal will. This is about finding meaning in life. Nietzsche wrote “He who has a Why to live for can bear almost any How.” Sith embrace this quest for meaning through passion.
For a Sith this is not about a general meaning of life but the meaning of their life at any one particular moment. Sith do not try and answer the question “what is the meaning of life”. Instead they focus on answering the question, “What is the meaning of MY life.” Is it completing a task? Achieving a goal? Experiencing something of beauty? Getting revenge? Surviving a life threatening situation? It can be any and all of these things from moment to moment. It’s about having something to fight for, and then choosing to fight, even if you know you can’t win. Many new Sith will equate this with physical or verbal violence. But this is not the true path of the Sith adept either. The supreme art of conflict is to calm the challenger with direct but measured confrontation.
Sith explore the will to live but take it one step further in exploring the will to power and finally, the Will to Meaning. No one will get out of this experience alive and this means that each of us must find meaning in life even in the face of a fate that cannot be changed. For a Sith that meaning is found in the pursuit of the uniquely human potential at its best, to transform tragedy to triumph, to turn quandary to achievement. Sith are leaders, willing to do what others will not or cannot. And this meaning can even manifest as the ultimate self-sacrifice of one’s life for a cause or a brother or sister. In this pursuit Sith realize they have no control over a situation and so they are left with the challenge to change themselves. The universe will never answer the question of why for me and so as a Sith, I am left with the last greatest challenge - to be personally responsible for my own best existence.
Once more into the fray Into the last good fight I shall ever know Live and die on this day Live and die on this day - a warriors poem

Crossing the Threshold
So you think you have the mind of a Sith? The next question is, “How do you get started on the path”? How will you train? How will you gain the tools of the Sith mindset? What steps do you need to take in order to build your personal worldview? The honest truth is I can’t tell you how to do this. No one can. If anyone comes to you and tells you they are a Sith Master or a Knight and they can reveal to you the secrets of the Sith Mindset,… run. Remember, this is the path of the individual, not the indoctrinated and this is only something you can do for yourself. However, there is some advice I can give in the form of four steps.
1. Take Personal Responsibility You have to own it. No one is going to do it for you. There are no guarantees that any one method over another will work. I or anyone else can give you the tools but you still have to be the one to create the monument of your legacy. Success or failure is up to you. It will not affect me or anyone else in the slightest. I don’t care if you succeed or fail. This is not to say I do not wish you to do well but the ultimate responsibility is yours, not mine.
If you decide to undertake this incredibly hard journey of your own accord I can tell you there will be success. Maybe not always in the form you set out for but keep in mind that every act of destruction is also an act of creation. If you are working with another Sith and they begin to argue with you over your choices it’s time to reevaluate that relationship. Your choices are your own and when others tell you that you are doing something wrong they are trying to take that responsibility from you. Don’t let this happen. Listen to good advice, decide for yourself the course of action and then be accountable for that action.
2. Set Goals You have to beat your brain. Don’t let your intellect get in the way of your instincts and inner wisdom. Within each of us there is a 3-5 second window where desire rules will. After that it is typical for the logical brain to kick in and talk you out of an action. You will begin to second guess that desire if you allow yourself to go past that 5 second window of instinctual want. Learn to use this time to commit yourself to personal goals and move from idea to action.
When you learn to set these goals and have an intention on something that you want to change in your life, your brain will stop working against you and actually begin to help you. You will begin forming internal checklists of accomplishment and reminders of the intention you set. Developing this skill that utilizes inner wisdom is paramount to personal growth in excellence. It will become second nature to allow that intent to kick in and then without thinking you just move, you perform, you go instinctively from knowledge to action. The answer to achieving your desires exists inside you alone.
3. Start here and now You have to take the first step. You have some vague idea in your head, some kind of vision as to what you want to achieve. So where do you start? Here and now. You initiate the action aggressively. It does not matter with what, you just go. The vision is not going to accomplish itself, you have to do it and you have to do it now. Stop fantasizing about your goal or researching it or planning for it. Pick an action and then execute it immediately.
Realize that no matter what you want in life, you will never achieve it until you move. Take that first step no matter how small. Don’t worry about victory or defeat. No matter the outcome of action you will learn and you will grow. Remember that failure only comes for those that do not try. Pay attention to stress. Stress is an indicator that something in your mind is bothering you and you have not yet taken action on it. Even if you can’t immediately resolve the issue taking action is the greatest reliever of stress in your life. Don’t ignore, don’t procrastinate, take action here and now.
4. Persevere You have to commit, win or lose, but never surrender. Perseverance, sometimes called "grit", is the ability to keep doing something in spite of obstacles or difficulties. People who persevere show steadfastness in doing something despite how hard it is, how long it takes to reach the goal or how much pain is incurred. Even if there may be little chance of ever achieving that goal A Sith will continue the fight.
Wishing and hoping and praying will achieve nothing. Only steady, consistent and hard work over time will achieve. It is through perseverance that greater inspiration will be acquired. Refining the vision, detailing the plan and bettering the self all come from doing the work every day. In this mindset there is nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Gauntlet of Ascension
Every human that has ever lived has had a fascination with, and a terror of, the dark. This dissonance with the darkness often creates guilt and shame in the psyche. One wants to see what is in the dark, but they are told by others that it is evil and forbidden. So, they drive those dark feelings deep inside and ignore that curiosity in order to be accepted and conform. The result is the creation of the shadow self. The Shadow is what is perceived as the dark side or weak parts of the self, and they are disconnected from the conscious psyche and shunned.
Unfortunately, the result of this is a “less than whole” sense of self awareness. A Sith realizes this fact and instead of shunning that dark self, seek to put themselves inside the mind of the monster within to view the world from its point of view. The monster, or dragon within, wants to be viewed as good but it is misunderstood and a source of fear. From the monster’s point of view, it is not evil, it is just following its passion. So, it can’t be good according to any external standard. In understanding this, a Sith realizes the monster is not evil. Instead it is simply conflicted in expressing its nature. This conflict becomes an internal struggle to shed those artificial boundaries dictated to it by outside sources and in doing so cross the threshold of choice. Once that choice is made there is no going back to what was before. Instead a path forward is revealed. A Sith will either follow the path or become lost in the dark.
The birth of the Sith mindset emerges when the threshold is crossed from desire to action. The first milestone that must then be reached is the discovery of one’s archetypes. The first step in achieving this milestone is building the Rider. The Rider is an integration of ones basil nature archetypes of the Prey, the Predator, the Icon and the Villain. This is a process of discovering who you are inside. What your shadow-self desires. What you have denied yourself in favor of acceptance. You must ask yourself how you have lied to yourself and others about who you are. You realize that living in comfort builds stagnation. You begin to no longer live to be accepted or to feel safe and instead become willing to feel fear anxiety and insecurity. You are learning to live outside your comfort zone.
The second step in this first milestone is embracing the dragon within. This is a process of Discovering the power of the beast inside that only knows desire. This beast is where you draw strength from and find value in life. It is the source of purpose, it is the prime mover. Self-honesty is the tool used to free you of restrictions. Know yourself and be ok with that. Are you lazy? Are you cruel? Then so be it! This is the time to reconcile what you truly are inside with what society, peers and family have taught you to be. It is time to embrace the wild spirit of the Dragon, the beast within.
Finally the third step in completing this first milestone is defining an internal equilibrium between the Dragon and the Rider. This is where the archetypes of the Hunter, the Warrior, and the Soldier emerge. A new set of morals is defined here, not by society or doctrine but by the individual. One no longer lives life by what is expected externally but by what one truly wants. Passions are identified, and desires are recognized and acknowledged. Find those things that give your life meaning, why you exist. , you are the Dragon and the Rider integrated as one entity and you answer only to yourself. This is where strength is built to maintain ones-self across the threshold of decision. The first milestone is achieved and the second milestone stands before you.
You have gained strength. The next step is gaining power. You will need tools to create and weapons to destroy. These are gained by achieving the second milestone of the gauntlet of ascension - Outfitting your Forge. This milestone is also a three step process. The first of these steps is gaining the implements of instigation. These implements are Fear, Motivation, and Perseverance. These are used to seize opportunity. No longer will you wish for your desires or pray for what you want from some external “force of creation”. You become that force of creation. Begin to create your desired reality through a methodological approach such as a SMART goal. There should be urgency in this idea. Begin now no matter whether you feel ready or not. The awareness that time is limited should become prevalent. And failure should not be regretted but embraced as a means of growth.
The second step in this second milestone is gaining the implements of structure. These implements are Will, Strength and Power. Competence and confidence begins to manifest in your work. You have gotten a taste of your capability to manifest your will out of nothing and you desire more. The desire to pursue your passions with excellence has taken hold and drives you forward. You feel alive in this place outside your comfort zone and fear has given way to a natural state of challenge in your pursuits. You have begun to take inventory of the things and people around you and have begun to notice what serves you and what does not.
The third and final step in achieving this second milestone is acquiring the implements of accomplishment. These implements are Passion, Sacrifice, Victory, and Freedom. Passions are now well defined and well represented as priority in your life. What does not serve is sacrificed, routines, possessions, pursuits and people. Victory in ambitions is manifest and this drives desire to a higher state. The morning of loss of comfort and security is over and these tools serve only to drive you forward relentlessly. Freedom is realized. You begin to comprehend what true freedom is and you want more. This is not a physical freedom but the freedom of the mind in the complete break from adherence to external moral, doctrinal and societal norms.
Strength is now second nature and you have tasted true power. But how do you best apply these to your life? The answer is in mastering the third milestone of the gauntlet, that of Sovereignty. This is achieved in mastering the Rites of Passion, the very process to apply what you have learned previously to begin to build the monument of your existence. This too is a three step process. The first is realizing the rituals of Projection. These are Inception, Protection, Justice, Resolve, and Consequence. This Cycle of passion is comprehended in the Archetype picking up the tools of the forge and using them to pursue true will. You are unashamed of who you are, you no longer compromise your passion and you have hardened yourself in battle. Now step onto the path you have carved out for your life. What are your objectives moving forward? How will you protect them? Never compromise the courage to prune that which does not serve and take full responsibility for any consequence of those decisions.
The second step in this third milestone is mastering the rites of Transformation. These are Realization, Metamorphosis, and Aspiration. Epiphany is the result of hard work. You will transform many times over as a Sith, from mundane to rider, from rider to knight, and from knight to lord. Become the example others aspire to, this is Icon in passion. Be the leader even when others choose not to follow. Seize your role in life as the Villain does, do not wait for approval or look behind you for recognition, create your own, know it is your true will, your true reason for being alive. In realizing this you can do no wrong, you are in league with the natural order.
And finally the third step is mastering the rites of Introspection. These are the rites of Wisdom, Consummation, Capitulation, Reminiscence and Abyss. From the combination of experience and knowledge come Wisdom and the completion of your great work in life. This will come many times over and each time it will become greater. Through these Rites, reflect on what has been accomplished and use that to move forward with even greater efficiency, prowess, and daring. Impart your knowledge onto worthy others as mentor and always know in your blood of your passion, and that all power is taken from the abyss. And one day that power will have to be returned. So how will you leave your mark? No one can tell the future, but realizing it is in your control and your control alone is sovereignty. Following this path will place you on a spiral of accomplishment unparalleled by others. Use it well.

THE DARK ARCHETYPES (Version 2)
Basal Archetypes: These are the Archetypes of Sensation and Reason. These Archetypes exist as fragments of the Psyche and draw upon aspects of both the true self and the shadow self in various configurations to form the Archetypes of the Rider or the Thrall.
Archetypes of Sensation:
• The Prey Archetype – o Manifests Desire and Opportunity – The Prey, is that which protects. This is the anticipation of the challenge. The Prey represents intuition. This is the warm embrace of the darkness, the guardian that creeps in ever so slowly with the loss of the light. It is the awareness of the danger beyond but also the daring to defy the danger, and to hunt. The prey outwits the enemy with superior insight and awareness in the pursuit of its objective. Sometimes the fear of being prey confines them to remain in comfort zones or contributes to obsessive-compulsive patterns. But when manifested positivity the instinct to overcome overshadows the unease and drives them towards winning the object of their desire. Resourcefulness and aspiration are the tools of their trade.
• The Predator Archetype – o Manifests Option and Choice – The Predator inside is that which drives one forward. It is the beginning spark of passion, the rolling clouds before the storm, the yearning. The predator is that ache that cannot be denied. This is pure instinct – they must act on it but it does not come from intelligent thought. It comes from the animal need to pursue their prey, as is the natural order of things. The predator is externally threatening and dangerous and internally treacherous. Predators seduce the target of their desire into a false sense of security. . Sometimes the desire to seduce in this way is an urge out of the predators control and results in them becoming hunted themselves. But properly manifested they patiently wait, allowing their quarry to stray into perilous situations under their control. They are manipulative and take advantage of the weaknesses of others. Lust and ferocity are the tools of their trade.
Archetypes of Reason:
• The Icon Archetype – o Manifests Altruism – The Icon is the lucidity inside that sustains the creation and gives it refined form and purpose. The Icon is the heroic aspect of the psyche that excels at overcoming obstacles and enacting clear paths to goals. Wisdom and persistence manifest here. The Icon is the embodiment of the anima, introspective and inward looking whose demeanor is emotionally grounded. The Icon is the protector of their realms of creation and the wielder of the weapons of logic and reason.
• The Villain Archetype – o Manifests Malevolence – The Villain is the monster, the outlaw inside that needs to create no matter the cost. The villain is the enactor of tangible results in their passionate pursuit outside the restrictions of society, gender norms, communally accepted behavior, moral paradigms and even included law systems as required. The Villain can be a challenger to victim mentalities and confronter of destructive behavior in others. They are the embodiment of the animus, interrogative and outward looking whose sensitivity is often repressed. They accept consequences for their actions and take extreme responsibility for them.
Amalgam Archetypes These Archetypes are amalgams of the basil archetypes that become the Dark Rider or the Thrall. The Riders are a balanced amalgam that partners with the Dragon in perfect harmony to effect true will in the pursuit of passion. This is the core of the Sith Mindset. The Thralls are an un-balanced amalgam of the basil archetypes that exist in realms both within and outside the dark. The live in fear of the Dragon or have been consumed by its power and have become slaves to it.
Archetypes of the Dark Rider:
• The Hunter Archetype – o Manifests Perseverance and Patience – The Hunter is strength. It is the intensity needed to never give up the pursuit of the goal. It is the thunder clap of excitement, the emotion of the chase. Heart pounding, nervous excitement, complete focus is their world. The hunter overcomes fear, stepping alone into the forest in pursuit of desire by choosing to confront conflict. The hunter is the epitome of “I shall”. The constant threat of failure is a component of this but that only quickens their pace even more, pushing them forward in pursuit of victory. The Hunter is the outlaw, the anarchist, the outcast. They are the anti-hero that strikes in the black of night and are gone before sunrise. They do not need open battle to prove their courage and they have no loyalty to any laws. The Hunter did not create the law so they feel no need to live by them. Their morality is fluid and can be paradoxical. The hunter chooses to choose based on individual circumstance.
• The Warrior Archetype – o Manifests Conflict and Sacrifice – The Warrior is power, the clash of steel against steel. It is the lightning strike of destruction that brings forth new growth. Sheer will pushing forward, blood is shed in sacrifice to attain the goal. Here victory or death is achieved. Leadership is an instinctive element of the warrior, allowing them to separate from the pack to make the decisions and sacrifices inherent of battle that are necessary to achieve the victory. Compassion is often an overlooked component of the Warrior. Those elements lost in the fight are mourned. Even more importantly sometimes it is themself that they will sacrifice in empathy for a cause or for others – family or brothers in arms. This is why they are. In the book “The Art of War” Sun Tzu, wrote “It is better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war”. This statement succinctly quantifies this idea that warriors create choice.
• The Knight Archetype – o Manifests Honor and Code – The Knight is disciplined and has ultimate loyalty to a specific foundation or goal. Honor to the code is paramount. However, this is not a personal code, but one of an institution. Their honor is also not a personal one but one bound to this idea as well. The Knight is willing to lose everything, fame, power and wealth for a cause greater than them. Their will cannot be broken by external events. A Knight forges his spirit according to the ways of his code. For the Knight, their code goes beyond anything that is spoken or can be described. The code is the very soul of the Knight, the catalyst that instills power into their every action. A Knight is no different than any other Dark Archetype. The only difference is that to them life is not worth living without honor. They demand of themselves a pursuit of perfection that goes beyond human limits. They shed justifications and abandon security to follow their passions. They will follow their vision at any price and with a dignity beyond words. Those on their path willing to befriend them gain an ally willing to die in return for this favor.
• The Soldier Archetype – o Manifests Duty and Devotion – The Soldier is regimented and militaristic in their pursuit and tends to prefer conflict and intensity as tools of their trade, always pushing themselves forward in the face of dire odds. The Soldier is a romantic depiction, a member of a band of mystic hero’s on an impossible quest. A soldier is united with his passion in a pact of spiritual brotherhood. This Archetype is nameless and faceless and yet legendary in the intensity in which they undertake their mission. They are fighters on dual fronts, both internally in the quest for personal enlightenment and externally in a fight for self-perfection that pushes them forward toward goals normal persons never dream of. The soldier is driven by a sense of divine involvement that can give them great power or if misinterpreted can lead them astray. The soldier walks the fine edge between Rider and Thrall because of this.
Archetypes of the Thrall:
The Mundane Archetype – o Ruled by Inconsequence and Ignorance – The Mundane can be referred to as the non-Archetype. They are described as average, typical or normal. Many have no sense of passion in their lives and are content as they are. They spend their lives in a drab circle of uninteresting work instead of career, a cyclic repetition of comfort zone play and are bound to a safe routine of social and psychological attitudes that reflect the prevailing moral paradigms and rules of the cultures they inhabit. They are oblivious to the existence of the Dragon inside.
The Victim Archetype – o Ruled by Suffering and Excuses – The Victim is aware of potential and is desirous of transformation and personal empowerment but fear that they will not survive holds them back. They dread the loss of the sense of self to be replaced with the monster. Instead of walking into the dark they superstitiously scream and plead at the unknown to be spared this pain. The Victim manifests only a passive control over their life and feels a great sense of entitlement. They feel they have been unfairly denied what they are due or that others have unbreakable control over their circumstances and they are powerless to change it. They fail to take personal responsibility and instead give in to the ideas of persecution in their lives. They are progenitors of their own sorrowful fate and feel they have no control over their destiny.
The Savage Archetype – o Ruled by Violence and Raw Aggression – The Savage is an abuser that uses gas-lighting and intimidation and brutality. In extreme form they manifest as Spree Killers. They are drifters that are highly intelligent but also underachievers. They are prone to spontaneous unplanned rage that causes them to be unstable. They are disorganized and often have a past associated with violence that they cannot reconcile.
The Destroyer Archetype – o Ruled by Coercion and Intimidation – The Destroyer is a psychopath and a liar, the opportunist, watching and waiting. They do not see others as human beings but as human-objects, as trophies, and mechanisms to boost their own sense of self. They watch with the silent yellow eyes of the predator, examining their surroundings for vulnerable flesh. The destroyer lurks in the shadows at midnight seeking the defenseless. They have mastered the skills of affableness and are well spoken, but also deadly.
Archetype of the shadow self - The Dragon:
• The Dragon Archetype – o Manifests Potential and Capability– The Dragon is the shadow self that is also called “Monster” by those that don’t understand it. The monster is not bad, it is misunderstood. (Think Frankenstein’s monster) The very reason a shadow self is developed is because one pushes undesirable thoughts, feelings and traits beneath the surface of the psyche. In effect one rejects those parts of themselves they are ashamed of or that society or moral systems tell them they should be ashamed of, the “monstrous” parts of themselves that disgust them or that they despise. And they cage that part of themselves or want to ignore it or wish to destroy it.
But Sith actually seek to free that monster from the cage! The Sith wants to understand that part of themselves, accept that part of themselves, nurture that part of themselves and then partner with it to become more effective in life. When this is done the monster becomes the dragon, a creature of great power and effectiveness that is to be admired for the purity of its spirit. The partner to the dragon is the rider; that civilized self that works together with the power of the dragon to both destroy and build as the partnership sees fit.
Sith understand that the dragon will always be a dragon, its nature cannot be changed and thus the concept of integration with the civilized self is not an option. It will only serve to weaken both the dragon and the rider. Symbiotic partnership is the only answer to this dilemma. Sith do not control their dragon as a master controls an obedient dog. Instead they train themselves to come into agreement with the dragon and find the common goals in their life. This is true will.
The Dragon is the functional culmination of desire and will that is carved from the aspects of reason and sensation. This is the equilibrium in the pursuit of passion tempered and directed by the rider. The dragon is what gives the rider freedom and the power to enact will as it sees fit. This sort of power should never be abused however, or the Dragon will turn on the rider and devour them and the individual will become a Thrall.

THE FORGE Sith are not created, they are born with an innate raw ability. A drive that is shaped in fire, refined as steel by hammer and sharpened through opposition. This is The Forge. A series of contemplations on the primary tools of a Sith. In a lifetime of pursuit a Sith will acquire many tools and weapons in their arsenal. These few here are the base of all those other tools to come. These tools are described here as a series of “Sanctums” that take the form of locations on a virtual journey in which one spends time contemplating their thoughts and views on each precept below. Consider each as a sacred temple within the mind that must be visited so that one may spend time creating each tool and refining ones skill in its use. Using each of these tools in a practical manner allows one to gain new insight and deeper meaning is drawn from the experience. TOOLS OF INSTIGATION 1. Sanctum of Passion - Passion begins in the mind. Passion provides a sense of freedom when doing something that one values. It gives you a reason to keep learning and to work toward mastery. It gives purpose to life and it often has a satisfying physical aspect. This action will naturally develop physical strength but also develops mental strength as well as strength of character. It gives meaningful structure to your time. It makes the world a richer place. When you’re in pain it can actually be a refuge, a distraction, a solace. In this pursuit it’s vitally important to identify true passions, not the passions one “wishes” they had. Following false passion will ultimately lead to failure 2. Sanctum of Fear - Anxiety is an inability to reach resolution. It arises from the fear of an imagined, unknown or poorly defined threat. It is the source of hesitation, indecisiveness and ineffectiveness in the pursuit of goals. Instead of succumbing to fear or anxiety when faced with it, challenge it. Ask “what is the worst/best thing that could happen” and then break down the solution to each question to achieve the desire, step by step. In doing this it will become clear that there is confidence in preparation and anxiety will disappear. 3. Sanctum of Motivation - Develop the ability to recognize any opportunity no matter how unconventional. The basis for this is courage. Courage is enacted by saying “Yes”. Yes, I will go to that gathering, Yes, I will take on that task/goal or Yes, I will lead that group. There is a kernel of enormous value in everything we experience, especially things that are frustrating, unpleasant or challenging. This is where opportunity hides and this is where the courage to seek them out is vital. Once opportunity is realized this is the time to make detailed precise goals that can be measured and a battle plan to achieve that goal. 4. Sanctum of Perseverance - Don’t let perfect get in the way of good. This is the idea that being so focused on being perfect robs us of our efforts to progress at all. The Pareto principle is a component of this concept. It states that 80% of effort only contributes to 20% of a task while the remaining 20% of effort will contribute to 80% of the task. Achieving absolute perfection is impossible and increasing effort to try and achieve perfection only results in diminishing returns and further activity becomes increasingly inefficient. So be ok with “Good” because before you realize it, it will be great!
TOOLS OF STRUCTURE 5. Sanctum of Will - No opportunity is seized or goal achieved without action. The plan is set but all the positive thinking and dreaming in the world is not going to get you what you want. Believing in the pseudoscience of movies like “What the Bleep Do We Know” or “The Secret” will get you no closer to a goal than the toaster on your kitchen counter. You can’t tune into the “feeling resonance” to think your way to a bigger bank balance, a nicer car, a bigger house and a better partner because the universe doesn’t care about what you want. If you want it then action is required! Physical and mental effort, pain and sacrifice. 6. Sanctum of Strength - Never sacrifice one sense to heighten another. Don’t pluck out an eye to attune hearing, self-maiming is not a path to power. In other words don’t suppress emotion or any element of life that strength is drawn from. These elements include things such as health, a support network in friends and family, the vision of what is being accomplished, and curiosity. The link between health and productivity is self-evident. Sacrifices of time will have to be made but should not be to the detriment of an inner circle. Don’t let negativity or criticism diminish your vision. Be adaptable but committed. Always consider the impossible and flesh out complex ideas. 7. Sanctum of Sacrifice - Get rid of the things in life that no longer serve. This goes for material possessions as well as physiological baggage. Fear is the driving factor that creates the belief these things are still needed. Belongings, situations, and relationships become security blankets placed strategically to ignore and avoid the pain of eliminating these useless things that are dragging down personal growth. Identify them and take on the conflict to eradicate them. What if a shark attacked and grabbed your arm? Would you be able to cut that arm off to save your life before the shark drug you to the depths or would you just quietly accept your fate? This is the nature of sacrifice for passion. How far are you willing to go to get what you desire? Sacrifice is simply the giving up of something in the present in order to improve the future. 8. Sanctum of Power - Know the true value of the things that do serve. Many seek power in an effort to control their environment. Sometimes control is gained through direct influence facilitated by respect or fear but just as often it’s done through subtle manipulation enabled by deference or collaboration. Realizing this tells us power is not just about domination. Power also comes in the form of submission and justified compassion. Having mastery of these aspects of ourselves is the only true power. It is only through this ever vigilant awareness and prepared control of self that we can affect our environment in a sustainable way. In order to change your situation you first need to change yourself. TOOLS OF ACCOMPLISHMENT 9. Sanctum of Victory – Victory and defeat are each of the same price. Defeat is not failure. Failure only comes in never having tried. In finding victory, strength and speed are required to develop greater power. Power is the ability to generate as much force as possible as quickly as possible. Greater power provides a stronger mind, stronger body, better awareness of environment and the necessary means for the desired ends. This is the primary weapon utilized to secure victory! 10. Sanctum of Freedom – Freedom is the power to choose my own chains. Freedom is not about rights or privilege. Freedom is the courage to act against oppression or coercion, no matter the form they take, even if that conflict comes from within. The mettle of freedom is to think for one’s self. Societies and rules will never grant you freedom. It must be achieved through strife. If you want to be free of laziness it must be earned. If you want the freedom to be lazy you must fight that battle as well. Liberty is a physical thing, Freedom is in the mind. Never be afraid to fight for that which makes you feel free.

THE THIRTEEN RITES OF PASSION
Every individual will experience these rites differently but generally this is a natural process of self-awareness designed to guide one through the development of an effective and robust set of strategies and habits that will most successfully allow them to naturally pursue passion. It is divided into three major subsections. The first parts of this series are energetically projective types. It is based on building strength to persevere through conflict that may get in the way of the pursuit of passion. The second part is a natural transformation that begins to occur as one progress’s from a place of strength to a place of power. This can be considered a first step into the darkness. The third part depicts a series of energy cycles that build on the previous two and these become a place where the passion becomes a second nature pursuit.
There is no set time that one must remain in any one of these Rites. This series could be enacted in a few months, over a year, or even over several years. It is also important to note that each individual will travel through this series many, many times over a lifetime. In this idea do not consider it a circular path but a spiral of pursuit in which each return to the starting point is actually a place higher (or lower) than the previous starting point. So each new beginning is a place where a new deeper understanding of the energy unfolds like a new layer peeled from an onion.
Keep in mind that there is no set boundary between each of these Rites either. Each of these energies flows into the others near it. They meld at the edges and blend seamlessly, influencing those around it subtly. Also, do not feel as though you must have a perfectly clear understanding of any of these, especially the first time or two through them. One must let them flow naturally and grasp what can be comprehended in their season, knowing that they will come around again and again. Also take care not to rush through them. Each aspect will come in its appropriate time and will be felt and experienced naturally as you live within the system. It will take many years of study to comfortably acclimate to and then master them. But also remember that this can only be accomplished through continual, steady focus and immersion. The key is to be aware of your own energy flows and use them to their greatest effect that is in harmony with your personal goals. These are the very building blocks of True Will.
PROJECTIVE ENERGIES
BEH INCEPTION Beh is the decision to proceed and it is the protection of this idea. It is a place where conflict is overcome in order to commit to action and then follow through with that action. It is a place where fear is overcome. It is a place of inception and beginnings. It is intention to build on the pursuit of your passion. Once you start this process it becomes hard to stop so be sure of your intent and that it is valid before you begin because this is the beginning of your passion that will yield specific physical results.
LOUSH PROTECTION Loush begins the growth of motivation through the act of the struggle forward. It is a place where initial success in your endeavors is felt. It is a time to further protect what you have begun to build. It is a time of cleansing your concept and refining it through personal reflection as well as the council of others. The passion begins to permeate here and the job you must take on is to direct that energy, building it stronger and thus driving urgency to achieve.
KNEEUN JUSTICE Kneeun is an energy where you begin to call on a level of stamina inside yourself that you didn’t think you possessed. It is a perseverance to carry on even though you may be tired, sore, hurting or mentally weary. This is a place where you must begin to cut aspects of your passion that are not serving. Judgment must be enacted and justice served. This reveals the truth of your desires, and often times these are things you will not want to admit about yourself. It begins to peel back the layers of your true self. Are you lazy or weak in some area?
FAIRIN RESOLVE Fairin is a place where the first milestones are reached. You have seen some serious tangible results of your efforts. It is a place where success has been accomplished but the road ahead is still long and you must make decisions about the future. Will you carry on or give up here? Your passion is in your blood now but you must evoke the will to carry it forward by learning to use all parts of yourself to embrace it. Allow it to grow and further integrate.
SAHLYEH CONSEQUENCE Sahlyeh is a protective place where a rhythm is found to prevent burnout. Consistency not intensity is the key here. It is a place where strength is built steadily. It is a place to find the beauty of the rose but also experience its thorns so time must be allowed for some frivolousness and some play time. A steady pace must be carved out that can be maintained because costs for the decisions you have made will begin to manifest here. Time must be taken to address them as it’s important to allow these difficulties to come and be what they may.
TRANSFORMATIVE ENERGIES
HOHUH ASPIRATION Hohuh is where things start to get more serious again. You will feel a total immersion start as you begin to actually embody the objects of your desires. It is a time to prepare for the envelopment of the darkness that is coming. Clarity and attention to detail is paramount here. You must get specific and further refine your actions through practical and physically goal oriented plans.
DUIR TRANSFORMATION Duir is the door. It is the terminator that is crossed over from cautious exploration to devoted commitment. You begin to possess a command of the power the darkness brings. It is a time of transformation where the struggle becomes second nature, a part of you that you can no longer deny. It is the threshold from outer projective aspirations to inner introspective dedication. The passion becomes who you are, not what you do. It is a time of fledgling power and you begin to feel this. This shift to internal aspects signals to you that nothing can stop you now.
CHUNUH REALIZATION Chunuh is the second wind. A time of newfound reignited passion. This is action without thought. It is your new immortal self that gives of itself in blood to the power of the dark. In return the darkness becomes agreeable. Take inventory of how far you have come and how far you yet still must go. What is working in your life and what is not? Protect those functional aspects of your life as you prepare for the work ahead. Reward has been harvested but the true sacrifices are yet to come.
INTORSPECTIVE ENERGIES
COLL WISDOM Coll is the envelopment of your very life force in service to your passion. This becomes why you exist. It is your meaning, your purpose for living. You now understand and know this to be true. It is a place of wisdom attained that does not come from knowledge but from experience. It is this wisdom is the beginning of personal Power in your life.
MUIN CONSUMATION Muin is exhilaration, a quickening within you. The physical need for your passion as the very thing that keeps you alive. Here concepts of balance become a lie. Only the equilibrium of you and your passion exists or matters to you now. It is a time to revel in this idea. Give yourself to it. It is almost a sexually wanton and brazen act, a loss of control that you surrender to completely. However always be wary of unwise actions and the wrath that will surely follow.
GOERT CAPITULATION Goert is the time to banish all things that no longer serve you or your passion. Sacrifice is necessary, it is a ridding of toxic influences in your life. The dark is now fully in your grasp and you are now able to see in the dark, becoming one with its power. You have become comfortable with yourself and your dark aspects. Fear becomes challenge. There is nothing that will hold you back. This is a time to surrender those last parts of your life that hamper you, no matter whether its habits or functions that you still desire to have but that no longer serve your pursuits.
NYETTLE REMINISCENCE Nyettle is a time of reflection on how far you have come and a time to be warry of what is yet to come. Your commitment is full, there is no turning back. It is a time of final sacrifice. Relationships must be considered at this time. Are they moving in the same direction as you? If not, they must be forfeited. This is the final blood harvest of yourself. Realize that all things run in a spiral and they have a beginning, a middle and an ending. It is ok to mourn for these things you may have lost and this is the time to do so, but you must also celebrate what those things have meant in your journey as well as the victory in your life that you have achieved.
ROOESH ABYSS Rooesh signals the ending of mourning. This is resolved acceptance of who you truly are now. A time of rejuvenation and completing the transformation into your new self. A time of final death of the old and acceptance of the new. You no longer need to defend your decisions. You have stared into the void and made peace with who you truly are. The energy cycle is complete and nothing can touch you now. The darkness is now complete and you will experience true freedom in your life. But be warned. If you have failed to cull that which does not work in your life you will feel that wrath here. The darkness is a powerful ally when amenable, but it is also unforgiving of duplicity. Fail to heed this warning and the void will consume you like a ravenous beast without mercy.
