I would like to clear up some confusion surrounding some confusion about the Grey path. lol
It is in reference to this video...
The author of this vid has a very limited view of the Grey path. In fact he describes it as a path of stagnation and mediocrity. It is neither of these things. During this presentation the author even admits to a very limited understanding of the Sith path. In light of that I'm not sure how it can be concluded that the views presented here are even remotely sound not only given a lack of understanding of the Dark but also the very 1 dimensional concepts presented here that you can only travel one direction or another. This is inherently dualistic, where the only options are black or white, leaving the Grey path no option forward and thus it is a flawed view of these concepts.
In fact all these paths are much more robust than this. I have described these paths before not in terms of black and white but as seeking their respective "North Stars". For the Light that North Star is Compassion and Honor. They have a strong sense of duty to a cause or service to others. For the Grey that North Star is Freedom. They follow their own whims and avoid rules and traditions. Their own desire for freedom determines any decisions of morality. For the Dark their North Star is Passion. They have no use for rules and believe moral systems are a lie. The pursuit of their passion is undertaken regardless of the lives of others and it is a pursuit they will chase until there is victory or death. In these pursuits there are milestones as the vid author says, however they are not two dimensional in nature as he describes. In fact they can be represented as a 3 dimensional trek up the "mountain" he uses in his analogy as depicted in this first drawing.
View AttachmentIn this trek up the mountain each adventurer chooses a north star and then follows a path up the mountain to reach that ultimate peak. near the bottom of the mountain there are many points to achieve and one can even explore other points of view in this journey. However as the adventurer gets closer to the top the terrain becomes more difficult and there are fewer points to find safe haven in. This is the journey of the path of life and as long as you are living there is no way to stop treking this path as the author of the vid suggests. Although you can become lost you have to keep moving always forward. In effect its impossible to remain in one place forever. This next drawing depicts what could be described as a typical path of a Grey path seeker as she traverses the path of life. She will predominately remain on a path were the center mountain representing the north star of Grey freedom rises as she travels this path but can also wander from side to side in her journey and even explore other north star paradigms.
View AttachmentIn this trek through life one can also change directions, so to speak and choose a different north star that may appeal to them more as they learn about themselves and their reality. This last drawing depicts a sith follower that migrates to a Jedi path.
View AttachmentTo me this is a much more encompassing and robust explanation of the individual paths depicted as light, grey and dark. No path is invalid in the pursuit of excellence and never let anyone tell you otherwise!
Good overall explanation our paths are different and subject to even change as we pursue the path that seems right.
